Since 2021, Mr. Blackett has led the choir program at Woodbridge High School, where he also teaches AP Music Theory and serves as the vocal music director for the spring musical.
Prior to coming to WHS, he taught elementary and middle school vocal music in IUSD. He received his music teaching credential from CSU Long Beach, where he was the assistant conductor of the University Choir, and earned a B.A. with highest honors from Occidental College. He taught in Mexico through the Fulbright program, and he has worked frequently as an accompanist and music director for theatre. Mr. Blackett is a member of the American Choral Directors Association, the Southern California Vocal Association, and sings tenor with Pacific Chorale. |
